Everything we do happens right here in the Austin area, in the heart of Texas - it's where our quarry, truck yard, and offices are based. We supply those in the construction, development, engineering, and architecture communities with high-quality materials from our home base, the rich American landscape.

Peter starts Nunez Trucking out of his parents’ house when he’s eighteen years old, with a single used truck.

2010

Peter buys his first dump truck — purchased with money he’s borrowed from family members.

2011

Peter buys a second truck and has Nunez Trucking officially incorporated.

2013

Nunez Trucking buys its first “Super Dump” truck.

2014

Nunez Trucking’s first office is established on Ironhorse Drive in Hutto, Texas.

2017

Nunez Trucking purchases ten more “Super Dump” trucks and purchases acreage in Hutto to build new corporate offices, maintenance facilities, and a truck yard.

2018

Peter Nunez designs, engineers, and purchases a custom, “Super Dump” truck. Industry leader Freightliner tells him the truck “won’t work.” After it’s successfully built, Freightliner is so impressed with Peter’s design and engineering, the truck becomes the focus of a “Heavy Equipment” magazine article distributed nationwide. Later in 2018, the entire fleet is flipped and replaced with sixteen new Peter Nunez-designed Super Dumps, making this the first multi-million dollar purchase of equipment for Nunez Trucking.

2019

After purchasing its first quarry in Georgetown, Texas in January, McCar Materials is formed. The company is mining and crushing limestone for the Central Texas construction industry by April. By November, construction is completed on McCar’s new corporate offices, maintenance facility, and truck yard in Hutto, Texas.

2020

Nunez Trucking and McCar Materials are merged as McCar Companies, comprised of McCar Trucking and McCar Materials. Stocked with the most modern fleet, the latest quarry equipment, leading-edge technology, and the best and brightest staff in the industry, McCar Companies are ready to charge into the next decade.

Peter Nunez

President & CEO

A native of Austin, Texas, Peter began his trucking company as a teenager, while still living in his parent’s home. Today, this family man owns and operates one of the largest aggregate hauling companies in Central Texas. In 2019, Peter saw an opportunity to better serve our clients by opening our first quarry in Georgetown, Texas. Securing McCar’s place in Austin and your number one source for limestone aggregates and aggregate delivery.

Cory Farris

Chief Operating Officer COO

Twenty years of executive leadership in the building materials, construction, and mining industries lead Cory to McCar Companies. A lover of the environment and long-time resident of the Texas Hill Country, Cory brings a passion for construction and environmental awareness to the Central Texas mining and trucking industries. Husband, father, friend, and Navy veteran are just a few of his roles. Cory values loyalty, teamwork, and integrity above all else.

Alec Heffler

Human Resources

With more than 8 years of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition experience in a variety of industries combined with a master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Alec brings experience, enthusiasm, and professionalism to McCar Companies. He prides himself on leading by example and has a servant leadership philosophy. Alec is a husband, father, and life-long Texan.

Pedro Nunez

Quality Control

Mr. Nunez is employee #1. He started with McCar on day one and has been a constant mentor and guiding hand for Peter and his staff. Mr. Nunez is the driving force behind McCar's culture of family and hard work. He represents everything McCar is about. He's the reason McCar exists.
